New (to me) Music - August

Last Friday, fate decided it would be a smashing idea for me to have a bad fall when crossing the road on the way back from my guitar lesson, carrying my guitar case (electric guitar inside) on my back, and end up breaking my arm (I'm tentatively typing this on my phone with my non-dominate left hand while my right arm is securely trapped within a cast for the next month or so. I've barely slept this past week, though I think I may have got a full hour's kip last night, which is a rarity at the moment).

Annoyingly, I'd planned to draft this month's post that weekend, but for obvious reasons it didn't happen. But I didn't want to miss posting something for this month's New (to me) Music, and luckily my ears haven't been impacted by the accident, so I have some first-listen albums to share, including track highlights.

No notes for each album this time, but I will say I had high hopes for the ELO album due to a misguided view that famous album cover = album full of bangers. But I was disappointed I didn't enjoy it more. I did think I would like The Monkees album and I was proved right.
