Hump Day Hook 13/02/2013

Hey, guys!

This is my very first Hump Day Hook and I'm very happy to be taking part. To read more paragraphs from fellow Hump Day Hook-ers (..um...), click HERE

For today's hook, I'm using a paragraph from my steampunk-western, A Town Called No Hope, which is still in the wip stage.

In this snippet, the Sheriff of No Hope, Miss Mona, has returned after a crazy day to her lover, Henry...

He nodded his head firmly and grabbed her, pulling her down onto the bed next to him. She snuggled down with her back against his chest as he wrapped his arms around her, bringing the blankets over them both. She could feel the vibrations of his machinations through his chest. When she had first lain against him after that terrible accident, she had found the sensation creepy and odd, now it had become a reassurance that he was working, for want of a better word. Her breathing started synchronising with the faint tick-tock of his innards as she fell asleep.

As you can probably tell, Henry isn't 100% human. If you want to read the first five chapters of the story, you can find it on Wattpad.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Oh, how different and interesting. I admire authors who write steampunk and would like to try it someday. I want to know how he got the machinery in him and how she came to love him.
