New Release: The Grandparent Trap

Posted by Gayle Ramage On Tuesday, August 28, 2012 2 comments
Well, in my last blog post, I did say that the release date was imminent.  And now it's here!

Yes, The Grandparent Trap, Book 2 in the Quality Times series is available from Amazon. I'm in the middle of uploading to Smashwords and Kobo so the book should be live on those sites fairly soon.

Book 1, The Whispering Tombs, is still tied up with Kindle Select until September 9th but after that date, it's going to be available on all other ebook sites, and I'll be making it perma-free as soon as I can. So keep an eye out for that.

Here's the blurb for The Grandparent Trap.

Young Ben Foster is not happy. He’s due to spend his summer holidays at his grandparent’s house. His boring, old-fashioned grandparents who don’t even have wi-fi. But when Ben knocks on their front door, he finds his grandparents have disappeared. And they're not the only people to have vanished.

When space and time-travelling adventuress, Quality Times, and her associate, Tim, encounter a distressed Ben, they decide to investigate the disappearances.

Where have the elderly folk gone to? What has it got to do with the new bus company that’s started up in the town?

With the help of Quality's gran, plus a member of the Neighbourhood Watch, they're going to find out.

You can purchase a copy via Amazon US and Amazon UKSmashwords and Kobo.

And if you haven't already, you can add the book to GoodReads.

From The Grandparent Trap (Quality Times #2). Release date imminent. Seriously. Like, within a week or so. You could always add it to your GoodReads list in the meantime... :D

The following is the very last few lines from the story.

Tim exchanged bewildered looks with a pale-faced Mrs Jago, and took in the now-empty labratory. No matter how long this travelling through time and space malarkey lasted, he would never get completely used to it.

'Come on, Mrs J,' he said finally. 'Let's see if there's a slither of a chance this place houses a coffee machine.'

Yeah, not exciting but any other piece would have spoiled it for you. :P

Argh!

(Scared Lady by Vera Kratochvil)

There's no going back now, folks. The books and DVD ROMS for the Open University course I signed up for have arrived and I'm part excited/part wanting to hide under a very big stone until May 2013 (the course runs from Oct-May).

A few of you are already aware that I have taken an OU course before - A174 Start Writing Fiction, where I met the fragrant Pippa Jay and biker chick Chantal Halpin - but that lasted a mere 12 weeks and was a subject I was deeply interested in.

The course I'm starting in October is AA100 'Arts Past and Present' and takes in everything from the reputation of Cleopatra to Victorian seaside music. There are seven Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs),  and one End of Module Assessment (EMA).  If I pass the course, I'll get 60 credits I can put towards eventually getting a BA Open Degree but I need another 300 -odd credits to get that!

So, once the course commences I may not be online as much as usual (though I do realise that for the past couple of weeks, I've been offline a lot). If you do hear from me, though, I'll probably be begging for cookies and hugs (yes, in that order!).

Another Cover Reveal - Oh My!

Posted by Gayle Ramage On Saturday, August 11, 2012 No comments
I'm happy to reveal the cover for my forthcoming paranormal-romance novel, Angel and The Snake!

This story is a bit of a departure for me. My stories are normally more focussed on the fantastical/timey wimey aspect, and less on the smoochy-smoochy. But this story would not go away (thanks, muse!) and so I thought "what the heck" and started writing it.

As you can see from the cover, the author name is not my own. Well, as some of you will know, Izzy Hunter is my pen-name for stories that are a bit different from my usual offerings. For quite a while - at least a day - I wondered where or not to release Angel and The Snake under my own name or not. But in the end, I want to keep my own name for books in the Time-Travelling Assassins and Quality Times series, from now on.

So for that reason, I'll also be releasing A Dark Age, a historical fantasy romance, under the Izzy Hunter name, too.

For those who like that sort of information, I found the snake image on publicdomainpictures courtesy of Sharon Apted.

BLURB-Y BIT - (may possibly change before publication)

After breaking up an attack on an old man, Irish barmaid Angel vows to kick the mysterious assailant's butt if she ever sees him again. Months later, summer arrives and with it comes a student step-sister, the reappearance of the assailant, a messed-up love triangle and glimpses of a snake on the loose.

During the balmy weather, Angel learns that things aren't always what they first appear to be, to be very careful who you trust.

And most important of all, that magic is real.

Feel free to add the book to your Goodreads list!
