Science Fiction Fantasy Saturday - 14/04/2012

Having missed last week's SFFSat - how naughty! - I'm back, this time with a new piece.

I started writing this story called 'Apocalyptica' (can you guess what it's about? lol) during my 'offline' holiday. I've not written much but here's nine (first draft) sentences.

Mary was standing inches from the glass, staring at me. Something had happened to her face. It looked... wrong. Her eyes, always narrow with suspicion, were now mere slits. Her nose consisted of two small holes beneath these strange eyes. Her mouth, thin and red with lipstick looked normal. That was until she opened them and I saw the shark-like teeth inside. Her hands - no, her claws - appeared and started to scrabble at the glass door. I didn't know what the hell was going on but I realized one thing; Mary was trying to get to me.

Not sure if I'll continue with it. I've got several other projects on the go, but it's something to put into my 'Bits & Bobs' folder and return to.

Before you go, I'd like to quickly announce that my website is up and running - http://www.gayleramage.co.uk (feel free to take a look!)

  5. Mary probably just wants to come over for some leftover cake and tea, and to gab about last night's episode of Dexter or something.

Oh, and, yes, you were naughty for missing last week. (wait - I missed it too. Okay, we're both naughty).

Enjoyed this snippet, even though I certainly wouldn't want to be standing there watching that take place. Yikes!
