Lucky 7 Meme/Seven Sentence Snippet

Was tagged by Pippa Jay as part of this Lucky 7 Meme. Here's how to play (not compulsory!)

1. Go to page 77 of your current MS (or if you haven't 77 pages, 7 or 17, or 27 etc)
2. Go to line 7
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. No cheating.
4. Tag 7 authors
5. Let them know

I've decided to choose seven from the first novella I ever finished a first draft of - 'A Dark Age'

'I seriously think you should take your hands off the young lady.'
The men turned around and were confronted by Matthew looming over them and holding a sword in each hand. He smiled at the two soldiers. 'Now, I've not really used swords before but as Brother Amos used to say when I helped him in the kitchens, I'm a fast learner.'
'You better listen to him,' said Elyane, swiping the knife from her boot, ready to strike. 'He's a monk. He's not allowed to lie.'

(I hope I've done it correctly!)

I now tag...

1.Patrick Stutzman
2.TK Toppin
3.Glynn James
4.Fran Terminiello
5.Vanessa Finaughty
6.Misa Buckley
7.Ella Gray

  2. Great tension and humor! I got a great sense of Matthew as a character from just this sampling.

  4. Sword 101 - pointy end goes in the other person. Nice extract Gayle, fight scene tantalisingly out of reach.
